Celia's Place To Grow Child Care has been providing the community of Pacific Palisades with high quality childcare since 2002. We are a day care based on Piaget's theory that children learn by doing, as well as Erikson's framework of socio-emotional development. This period of early childhood is a time for the child to develop a sense of trust, acquire a sense of independence and demonstrate initiative.
At Celia's Place to Grow Child Care we believe that infants and young children learn through play with sensorial materials and sensor-motor experiences to construct their own conceptual framework of knowledge.
In addition, a young child's construction of knowledge is a socially mediated process where they can find opportunities to grow, negotiate, converse, problem-solve, provoke thinking and express feelings.
There are seven "gifts" that a good child care program offers babies and young children. Nurturance, support, security, and predictability let children know that they can count on being loved and cared for in the child care setting. While, predictability, focus, encouragement, and expansion facilitate the child's intellectual development.
We hope to see you!
